Mobile Phone Policy

1. Purpose

This policy outlines the appropriate use of mobile phones and personal devices to safeguard children and support safe, professional working practices.

2. Staff Use of Mobile Phones

Staff may use mobile phones only for work-related purposes, including:

• Communicating with other staff members during sessions

• Coordinating safe handovers and collection arrangements

• Playing music as part of planned activities

Personal use of mobile phones during sessions is not permitted.

3. Photography & Video Recording

Only a designated member of staff is permitted to take photos or videos of children during activities.

Photos or videos are taken:

• Solely to share activity updates with parents

• Only after prior parental consent has been obtained

• Using approved devices

• In line with our Safeguarding & Intimate Care Policy

Staff must not take photos or videos of children on personal devices or share content outside approved communication channels.

Content is used respectfully and is never shared publicly without explicit permission.

4. Children’s Mobile Phones

Children are not permitted to use mobile phones or personal devices during sessions unless agreed in advance with parents and staff.

If a child brings a device, it must remain stored safely and unused during activities.

5. Safeguarding & Monitoring

Any concerns regarding the misuse of mobile phones or personal devices must be reported immediately and will be managed in line with safeguarding procedures.

6. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains appropriate, effective, and aligned with safeguarding guidance.
